Located north of Florence, this deck truss bridge crosses the Redwood River in an isolated setting.
Built in 1902, the bridge features a single double intersection warren deck truss with riveted connections. This truss is approached by deck girder spans on either side. The bridge sits on stone piers and abutments.
This style of deck truss was a favorite for the Chicago & North Western, due to its reliability and stability in case of damage. A similar bridge exists near Webster City, Iowa, among many others.
Overall, the bridge appears to be in good condition. The stonework is in very good condition.
The author has ranked the bridge as being moderately significant, due to the design.
